Thursday 22nd June saw the successful launch of LDYS's latest youth branch in Tower Hamlets. Young people and students from across the borough met up for an excellent curry in Brick Lane, Whitechapel, and discussed the current state of the borough and what we could do to help.

Volunteers agreed to take on various roles within the branch, and the evening ended after drinks in the Vibe Bar.

LDYS London has launched a major new initiative to found and develop borough-level youth branches all across London.

LDYS London Chair, Adam Edwards, stated an intention to grow the youth branch network to at least 20 fully-functioning boroughs within the next 2 years.

Youth branches at the borough level act as a social network for Liberal Democrats under the age of 30, and a means of getting a larger number of young people more heavily involved in the party. Youth branches work closely with their local parties and with universities in their area to recruit, retain and develop new members and new activists.

LDYS London has launched its first ever website for the London region.

Commenting on the launch, designer Stewart Morris said "The LDYS London website provides young people and students with information about what we do, who we are, and what we believe. It will act as a central recruiting point for new members, and as a resource for our various youth and student branches across London."
