The Liberal Democrat Youth and Students (LDYS) of Tower Hamlets met on Thursday 7th September for their regular monthly social event, and have reported a clear increase in active members since the branch was formed.
Continuing their borough-wide tour of great value restaurants, the group met in Matsu, near Mile End, for conversation over Japanese noodles, dumplings and stir-frys. They then moved to the New Globe, a pub popular with students at Queen Mary University (where LDYS will be running a Freshers' Fair stall in late September).

"It was great to see so many new faces tonight", said branch organiser (and LDYS London Chair) Stewart Morris. "Five new members turned up, along with some old friends, and given that we're planning a big Freshers' effort, I've never felt more positive about the future of the group".
LDYS London Secretary Paul Seery also attended the social event, thanking Tower Hamlets for a "wonderful evening".
Anyone wishing to join in should see the local contacts page for details.
